Mishaal is the Arabic word for torch. This word was chosen among many from the Arabic language because we wanted to bring a torch of hope and knowledge to the underprivileged youth in South Asia. Mishaal's main goal seeks to improve universal access to education in South Asia. Our core belief is that education is a critical ingredient in breaking the cycle of poverty and social inequality in the region. The group seeks to reduce socioeconomic disparities in South Asia by promoting educational initiatives in underdeveloped communities. Also, we strive to spread awareness about development by objectively discussing burning issues such as poverty, gender inequality, sustainable development and social disparity. Mishaal supports ongoing development in South Asia by raising funds via cultural awareness events, races, entertainment venues, and discussions with prominent leaders of the South Asian community. |  |
